Face To FaceNetworking .com hosts NYC speed networking events for New York business professionals looking to make new connections.

Wh
y NYC (New York) Speed Networking?

Traditional NYC business networking events can sometimes be very unproductive. People naturally move towards those they may already know and never get the opportunity to

meet others who could be great business contacts.   In this structured business networking environment you will interact with many individuals that you may  have never otherwise had the chance to network with.

Even if someone you meet does not directly relate to your business, you may know someone who would be a great contact for them, or vice versa.

Since each face to face speed networking session lasts about four minutes, you will not get stuck in an unwanted long conversation trying to figure out how to end a conversation.  Our business networking events take place in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island.

What is Networking?

New York Business Networking is about building and developing a long term relationship where both parties develop a comfort level with each other, and want to help one another.  It is about talking and getting to know people.  You exchange ideas, brainstorm about topics, give advice, and share business contacts. What you have to offer someone is just as important as what you hope to gain from a new business relationship.  You have to give to get.

Networking is about helping people, anticipating that you will also be helped

How the events work

Individuals attending the events will come from various lines of business, all sharing a common theme of servicing a particular geographic market.  You will have 12-20 face to face networking sessions during the event, each one lasting about 4 minutes.  During each session, each person will share information about themselves, looking for synergies, offering contacts, providing ideas, and exchanging business cards.  Do you know someone that this person should talk to?  Do they know someone that would be a great business contact for you?

The organizer will signal the end of round one and half of the attendees will rotate to the next station.  The process continues for about an hour.   We will take a short break and then begin rounds two and three where you continue meeting the other attendees.     Each participant will be provided with  a notes card at the event that provides other attendees names and contact information.

Note: We take a maximum of 26 people per event to ensure that you have a chance to meet with everyone.

What you need to do for the event

For starters you will want to bring plenty of business cards.  You should also come prepared and follow these simple tips from Lucy Rosen of the Business Development Group:

  • Know your business, and know it well;

  • Be able to describe what you do in a few clear sentences; and

  • Know what you want and need from networking and what you have to offer.
